Don’t be Like the Rest – Pick the Only Way to Get Fit Fast

By admin - Last updated: Tuesday, January 26, 2010

I want to share with you just how I have been successful in achieving outstanding results with fitness and fat loss with my clients for many years without any fad exercise gadgets or crazy diets. If you really want to find out the only true way to ‘Get Fit Fast’ then read on and I will tell you precisely how to do it, here and now.
First things first, the most important thing you must do to ensure you get fit as fast as you can is to be clear about exactly what you want to get fit for. You must a have a visibly clear goal as to where you want to be. You must remain focused and determined to succeed. How can you expect to get fit if you have no idea where you are heading?
If I ask you this question, it might help you to realize that getting fit fast really does depend on what your own interpretation of fitness is. Do you think you would get fit faster if your goal was to be able to climb 10 flights of stairs without stopping compared with climbing K2, the world’s second highest mountain? Of course you would. The task of climbing 10 flights of stairs is much less of a challenge than climbing K2; therefore if you where training to climb mount K2, you would reach and overtake the desired fitness level to climb the stairs well before you are ready to tackle one of the highest and arguably the most dangerous mountain in the world. Hopefully this has made you realize that ‘fitness’ is an extremely broad term and people must understand that in order to ‘Get Fit Fast’ they must be very specific about what it is they want to achieve.
So back to the original question, How to Get Fit Fast depends greatly up on your current level of base fitness and the desired goal ahead. The next thing to think about is the relevancy of your training. The example above gives two similar goals, in respect that they both involve climbing of sorts. One much more technical and challenging than the other, but the training would be some what similar to start with.
Let’s look at another example; if you compare a Power Lifter with a long distance runner, initially you would say that both are fit. This is correct to say that both are fit for their respective sporting disciplines, however if both were to swap roles, you could say that both would struggle to perform well at each others sports.
These are classic examples of people who are fit for what they do. The training path to reach the desired level of fitness for each sport is completely different. So you need to make sure that the training you do to improve your fitness is relevant to your final goal, otherwise you will never get there.
Take it from me you have to have a very good level of base fitness to succeed at either of these sports. Most people’s idea of a base level of fitness is to enable them to cope with the stresses and strains of their daily lifestyle. This might include, tending the garden, leisure walking, running for the bus and playing with the kids.
To get fit as fast as you can follow these 7 simple steps;
1. Assess where you’re at; Ask you’re self why you want to get fit. Most people decide to get fit for one of 3 reasons; a) Improve physical appearance b) Health reasons or quality of life c) For a particular sport, challenge or task
Which category do you fall into?
2. Set yourself a goal; Make sure there is light at the end of the tunnel. When will you know you have reached your goal? What do you need to do to get there? If your goal is weight loss, then what is your ideal weight? If you are training for a specific event, such as a running race, what time or distance do you need to achieve. If it’s for health reasons, you may wish to reduce your blood pressure or cholesterol.
3. Eat healthy; Your diet must be specific to your goal and your exercise plan. Make sure you are eating the right food and at the right times to get the most out of your exercise program. A poor diet equals low energy and poor performance, ask any successful sports person. My advice is don’t go on a diet. You’ll just end up hungry, de-motivated and give up.
If weight loss is your goal, then start by making one small but significant change to your diet every week. For example if you were to cut out 1 tsp of sugar from your 2 cups of tea or coffee per day, then that’s a saving of 14,500 calories in one year. That amounts to a loss of over 4lbs of body fat. Do you see where I’m coming from? Small changes can make a big difference when you add them all together.
4. Exercise; If you are new to exercise and think you don’t have the time, and then make a commitment to start exercising for 5 minutes per day. Do you think you can handle that? Next week, increase it to 10 minutes and so on until you are doing 30 minutes per day. You’ll be amazed how much fitter you are just in that short time.
Choose an exercise activity appropriate to your goal, but make sure it’s a balanced program that covers all the major components of fitness. A balanced exercise program should include; CV training, for aerobic & anaerobic fitness. Resistance training, for muscular endurance, strength and power. Flexibility for range of movement and posture. Balance and coordination.
If you are not sure where to start then consider these; 1. Enjoy what you do 2. Balance your exercise to include CV, Resistance and Flexibility 3. Make your exercise specific to your goal 4. Make it a lifestyle change not a chore 5. Make it challenging, but not impossible
For the best results and to get fitter faster, then consult an exercise professional to design a program specifically for you.
5. Monitor; Monitor your progress; it will help to motivate you to stop you losing interest. Once you see that you are making steady progress towards your goal it will keep you focused.
6. Motivate; One of the hardest things about starting a new fitness campaign is keeping on track. Try training with a friend or join a club to help keep you interested. Reward yourself every now and then with your favorite meal or treat.
7. Fitness for life; Don’t just make a commitment to get fit for new year or holiday, make it a lifestyle change. Decide that you are going to make changes for life.
Last but not least if you can get to the point where fitness and healthy living becomes second nature and a natural routine then it’s the unhealthy things that start to become a chore! Remember if you practice anything enough you will do it without thinking about it and this is the state you need to aim for. One day you will come to realize, ‘this fitness stuff isn’t so bad after all’.

Building Your Website With Wordpress (part 1)

By admin - Last updated: Tuesday, January 26, 2010

What is Wordpress?Wordpress is a free, easy to install and use blog and content management system. You can download Wordpress at: http://wordpress. org/download/.
Why Wordpress?
Wordpress is free, easy to install and easy to useYou can quickly create new static pages (About Us, Our Services, Contact Us, etc. )You can easily maintain a business or personal blog and archive older articlesWordpress can create search engine-friendly pagesYou can choose from hundreds of templates (also called themes or designs) to installYou can choose from hundreds of plug-ins (such as calendars, contact forms, photo galleries, etc. ) to add. Installing Wordpress on Your Webhost
Option 1 : If you know how to use FTP and how to create a MySQL database, you can probably install it yourself quickly using the installation instructions at Wordpress. Option 2: If you chose a webhost that includes the script library Fantastico or if you chose Netfirms. com, you can use their useful automatic installation tools. Please note: this method may not be as secure as option one.
1) Webhost with Fantastico
I will use Hostpapa. com as an example because I often recommend it to clients, but it could be any other host with Fantastico.
Login to the control panel at http://www. hostpapa. ca/cplogin. shtmlScroll down to the « Software » section and click on « Fantastico De Luxe » In the left menu, under « Blog », you will find « Wordpress ». Click on « Wordpress » and then on « New Installation ». Choose your domain name in the drop-down menu. Type the directory where you want to install Wordpress. Leave it empty if you want to install it in the root folderType an admin username and a passwordPut in your admin nickname, e-mail address and your site’s name as well as a self-explanatory slogan. Click on « Install Wordpress » and then on « Finish Installation ». Your are ready to login to your admin account!2) Netfirms Netfirms. com, another host I frequently recommend, is a bit different:
Login to the control panel at https://controlpanel. netfirms. comClick on the menu item « Site Tools »Under « Applications » you will see « Wordpress ». Click on « Wodpress »On the next page, click on « Add New », on the right-hand side of the page. Type the directory where you want to install Wordpress. Leave it empty if you want to install it in the root folder. Select your domain name and click « Add »Option 3: If you prefer, you can have it installed by a freelancer for around $25. All the freelancer will need is access to your server and the option to create a MySQL database.
Creating ContentOnce Wordpress is installed on the server, you can login to your admin account and create content in two different ways:
1) Create static pages such as « About Us », « Contact », « Services », etc.
In the main menu, click on  « Write » and then on « Page »Type a title in the « Title » fieldType and format your content in the « Page » fieldClick on the button « Publish » And voilà, a new menu item will automatically be created in your site menu, linking to this new page.
2) Write a post (article)
In the main menu, click on « Write » and then on « Post »Type a title in the « Title » fieldType and format your content in the « Post » fieldBelow you can type tags. Tags are keywords that describe the topic of your post. Select or add a category in which to post your article. This will help organize and archive your posts. Click on the button « Publish » A new title will automatically be created in your categories and will link to this article. Most likely, and depending on your settings, this new article will also appear on your home page.
You can include images, videos, audio and other files in both posts and pages using the buttons next to “Add Media”. For more info on how to use Wordpress, read  http://codex. wordpress. org/Introduction_to_Blogging.

Learn About The Classifications Of Affiliate Marketing Internet Business Programs

By admin - Last updated: Tuesday, January 26, 2010

When it comes to online business, affiliate marketing internet business programs are a rage! But to settle down successfully in affiliate marketing, we have to carry out a specific research about the kind of affiliate business program that will suit us best. But is there a real difference in the affiliate business programs? Is the payback the same in all the programs? Which are the best affiliate programs among all of them?   Affiliate marketing is really divided into types and the primary classification of the affiliate marketing programs is Pay-Per-Click and Pay-Per-Performance. Pay-Per-Click: PPC is the most accepted form of affiliate marketing and is the best option and an easy way to earn income for the small websites. In this type of marketing, the business enterprise will shell out money to the affiliate, each time he gets a visitor referred from him. This happens, when a layman clicks on the banners or other text ads. Even if the visitor does not buy anything from the website, the affiliate receives a payment.          Pay-Per-Performance: PPP is known to be the nicest kind of affiliate marketing. Here, the merchant will only pay an affiliate, if his referral turns into action. That is, if the visitor becomes a lead or purchases anything from the website. This way, a merchant is saving on his direct marketing efforts. If you are a dedicated affiliate then PPP marketing will be the most rewarding to you. The commission in PPP affiliate marketing is 15% to 20% of the sales of the product. If the products are e-goods then the commission can be as high as 75% of the sales.       You can further divide Pay-Per-Performance affiliate marketing internet business programs into two types, Pay-Per-Sales and Pay-Per-Lead. Both these two types of affiliate marketing programs are very popular! Pay-Per-Sales: In this kind of affiliate marketing, the merchants usually pay the affiliate agent fees, whenever a visitor he has referred has bought a product from the website. The agents are paid their commission frequently but some merchants also decide to pay them a fixed amount. The fees that an agent gets are higher than the pay per click programs.       Pay-Per-Lead: this is a type of affiliate marketing that is mostly utilized by the finance and insurance and other such companies. These are some companies who rely on lead growth. Here, an affiliate agent is paid only when the visitor offers to fill up the application form or other related document, which is in relation to the business of the company. The payments made in this type of affiliate marketing internet business programs are basically through fixed fees. Normally, the sales conversion rate is high in this pay per lead advertising, as the visitor here does not have to purchase a product. He will only have to fill in an application form.       An affiliate agent has to try various tactics and plans to see which will work best for him. After that he will have to concentrate on those methods of marketing, which will suit his internet business marketing the best!

What is a Realistic Budget for Traveling?

By admin - Last updated: Monday, January 25, 2010

One you can afford – seriously.

Look at how much you earn. What can you put aside for a trip? What are you prepared to sacrifice to make your trip a reality? Maybe you’ve been saving for a while and have a few thousand dollars in the bank. You do? Great. Well that’s your realistic budget. If you want to fly to Europe tomorrow and you only have ten dollars in the bank then you are not being realistic. But it might be enough to get you in to the local museum for a few hours escape.

When you are setting your budget, be practical. Everyone has different needs for their travel experience and if your travel plans include overseas flights, you will need to budget accordingly. Sure you can find great deals and get there cheaper than you might have expected, but make sure you have enough money in your budget to not only get you there but to travel around, find a place to sleep, oh and have enough money to be able to eat!

So how do you go about setting a budget? Following these steps might help:
1. Draw up a table with two columns.
2. Column A is for Expense Items. Column B is for Approximate Costs.
3. In column A write down all the things you can think of that will cost you money while traveling. These might include: air flights, car hire/fuel allowance, travel passes, sight-seeing tours, accommodation, food, insurance, immunizations, and souvenirs.
4. In column B write an estimate of how much you think these things will cost while on your trip. You can research your travel costs quite easily on the Internet. Food allowance might be a bit more difficult. If you are traveling alone, as a couple or in a family you will need to budget food costs accordingly.
5. Now add up the costs. This will give you an estimate of how much your trip will cost. Can you afford it? Yes – then this is a realistic budget for you. If not, then you may have to rethink your destination and the type of travel experience you want.

Remember that this table will only be an estimate of your travel costs. You must also budget for incidentals and prepare yourself for things to not go to plan. For example, have you got enough money in your budget to buy new clothes if your luggage goes missing? A realistic travel budget will have extra built in to it to cover emergencies. Setting yourself a budget of about sixty-five dollars a day, if traveling alone, is a reasonable amount. If you are traveling as a family or in a group, this number will be vastly different.

Also consider if you will be traveling and working. If this is the case, then you may not need as much to start with, just enough money to get you to your destination and a place to live while you look for work. (And enough money to buy you food until you begin earning a wage. )

Start making your travel plans with your budget in mind. Don’t exceed your budget, always keep a little in reserve so you can buy that fantastic Italian leather handbag or go jet-skiing in Hawaii if the desire takes you!
